This position is primarily responsible for assisting customers in our retail store while providing outstanding customer service. We don’t require ANY previous experience in the metals industry; just team members who are passionate and ready to learn new skills. Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Job Type: Full-time
Primary Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and assist in finding product(s) suited for their unique needs
- Answer questions from customers, provide product and service information
- Suggest items for the customers intended purpose, lend opinions
- Demonstrate outstanding customer service and selling skills
- Write retail tickets accurately and legibly
- Process material cuts using industrial saws
- Develop product knowledge by reading vendor tags and pamphlets
- Assist in the display of merchandise
- Ensure the cleanliness and neatness of assigned store areas
- Replenish and straighten product stock in store
- Follow general safety guidelines, processes, and procedures
Position Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
- Professional communication in the English language, both written and verbal
- Strong understanding of measuring devices such as calipers, tape measures, and scales
- Ability to multi-task while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the department
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independently
- Ability to safely lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
- Ability to maneuver and manipulate metal materials by bending, twisting, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, and use of upper and lower extremities and back
- Visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and use a keyboard and computer
Preferred Qualifications:
The following qualifications are desired, though not required to adequately meet the objectives of the position.
- Experience in the metal and/or hardware industry
- Aptitude in industrial machinery and equipment
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus!
